NEW JERSEY EASTERN STAR HOME
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF SENIORS

The New Jersey Eastern Star Home, Inc. was founded in 1958 by the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey as a retirement residence for its members. Now open to the public as well as members, the Home has served proudly for 50 years and undergone many changes in that time period. Today there are two types of living accommodations available at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home.

The stated purposes of the organization are: Charitable, Educational, Fraternal and Scientific; but there is much more to it than that. Dr. Robert Morris, the Poet Laureate of Masonry, founded the Order on October 20, 1870 using beautiful and inspiring biblical examples of heroic conduct and moral values; namely fidelity, constancy, purity, faith and charity. The five heroines of our order portray these noble principles, which should adorn the lives of all Eastern Star members. Eastern Star strives to take good people and, through uplifting and elevating associations of love and service, and through precept and example, build an Order, which is truly dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness.

Assisted Residential Living caters to the individual who is mostly independent in their daily functions. Accommodations include a private room, which the individual may furnish with their personal furniture or they may utilize furnishings provided by the Home. Services include excellent quality dining, laundry and linen service, housekeeping, and a full array of activities from which to choose.

The Health professionals monitor the individuals health and well-being, and can provide assistance with medication management and bathing, if needed. Transportation is also available to medical appointments.

Our In the Skilled Nursing area of the Home, individuals who require increased care receive services from Licensed Professional Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. Recently modernized and professionally decorated rooms in Skilled Nursing offer comfortable accommodations in an array of private and semi-private settings. Individuals with a need for continuing care, monitoring or skilled nursing services will find caring and compassionate staff.

Physicians visit both resident living areas weekly to attend to resident concerns and many specialists visit as needed. Residents also have access to therapy services on site including physical, occupational and speech therapies.

Many amenities come with residence at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home. Residents enjoy excellent dining choices, a Beauty Salon on site, and twice-weekly religious services. A lively Activities program includes the opportunity to enjoy many programs and entertainment, exercise, arts and crafts, and games. A multi-passenger van owned and operated by the Home, takes residents for frequent excursions including shopping at local stores and recreational trips to historical, cultural and natural sites. Restaurants and entertainment venues in the area are frequent destinations also. Residents who drive may bring their car with them to have available for their personal use.
