Michelle Hess
To all who care: My great nephew Matthew Baker is a marine currently in Afghanistan. I just received the following info from my niece:
Matt and his guys are in a pretty hairy situation in Afghanistan. Your prayers for their safety is much appreciated at this time. If anyone has written to Matt, I wouldn't expect any response right now. I haven't heard from him in 4 weeks. I know they couldn't take any stuff(books, wipes, etc.) with them when they left Kandahar, because their packs weighed too much. They ran out of water....A supply helicopter finally arrived this week with water. That is their life right now. They are in the midst of a battle with the Taliban. I hope to send you all good news soon. Keep praying and may the Lord protect the 1/6 24 MEU's. Love you all for your support.
So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, pray for our boys.
Love, Michele Hess
